September 29 - October 5
We live in a day and age that’s noisy. Perhaps, like us, you feel the pressure to shout to be heard, to move quicker to get ahead of things, to be certain of what you know and where you’re going.
Amidst all this noise, can you hear the quiet whisper of God inviting you to put your phone down, step out of the daily hustle, lift up your eyes, and breathe in the peace, love, and refreshment of Heaven?
For 6 nights and 5 full days this Fall, a group of 10 women will gather in a secluded luxurious villa overlooking the Ambracian Gulf in Greece to be swept up in delight, adventure, rest, and renewal at the Amalia Yoga Retreat. We’ll enjoy chef-prepared, fresh-from-the-garden meals, relax by the pool, and practice yoga on a deck overlooking the sea, shaded by ancient trees. Through yoga, imaginative prayer, quiet times of solitude, journaling, and creativity, we’ll draw near to God and drink deeply from His lavish love.
Is the Lord whispering to your heart, “Arise my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me”?
Join Caroline and Melissa as we return to Villa Amalia – a place that captivated our hearts when we visited last year!
Due to last year’s overwhelming response, we’ve reserved two weeks at this special space. Choose the week that works best for you, and prioritize your rest at the soul level this year.
All women – no matter your level of yoga experience, age, ability, or extroversion – are welcomed and celebrated!
8am: Gentle Yoga and Lectio Divina* by the Sea.
(*Lectio Divina is the practice of simply listening to scripture and allowing the words to wash over you… paying attention to what stands out to you and holding that before the Lord.)
9am: Traditional Greek breakfast on the patio under the bamboo pergola, overlooking the infinity pool and the sea.
10am: Contemplative free time. Follow the daily journaling prompts to engage in a quiet conversation with Jesus, share with others, or enjoy a craft (supplies provided). Or simply find a quiet spot to take a nap!
1pm: Explore the Villa grounds or get out on the water in a kayak or standup paddle board! Find a comfy spot to curl up with your Bible, your journal, or a good book with a cup of tea and allow yourself the gift of slowing down and resting. Perhaps even treat yourself to a massage, a private yoga session with Caroline, or a Spiritual Direction session with Melissa.
4:30pm: Group spiritual direction exploring what God is initiating through our daily practices.
5:30pm: Yoga practice infused with Scripture, challenging our bodies, minds, and spirits to dig deeper into what God wants to show us.
7pm: Gather around the table to enjoy a feast prepared by our chef, delicious wine, and lots of laughter while watching the sun set over the sea.

Your Hosts: Caroline & Melissa
Caroline leads people all over the world in yoga practices rooted in Scripture and aimed at yoking our hearts with God’s on her YouTube channel Caroline Williams Yoga and as the founder of The Abbey. Based in New York City, she enjoys teaching pre/postnatal yoga classes and Jesus-centered yoga classes, but her all-time favorite thing is traveling the world and making space for women to experience the wild love of God.
She's led yoga retreats in France (where she met Melissa!) and Costa Rica and is thrilled to partner with Melissa to offer this beautiful retreat again this year.
Melissa enjoys the privilege of working as a Spiritual Director for people around the country, asking quiet, deep questions and holding sacred space for them to uncover what God is doing in their lives. In addition to her Spiritual Direction practice, Melissa has extended her “soul care” work to the yoga mat. She enjoys teaching private and group yoga classes in her home, through her church, and in her local studio in Columbus, Ohio.
Creating peaceful, beautiful spaces for others to experience God’s presence and to engage with Him creatively and authentically is Melissa’s passion. Partnering with Caroline in creating and hosting this incredible retreat is a dream come true.
Hear from some of our 2018 attendees!
I arrived at this retreat during a season of change and "noise." At the retreat I found women who love Jesus, like yoga, and who desire to be seen for the beauties we were meant to be. What I left with was freedom to continue to grow in who God has uniquely designed me to be. – Debbie
This trip was a rescue for me and so many other women. The week we spent together (first as strangers, soon sisters) was healing, restoring, and refreshing. The accommodations were heaven on earth (as was the food!!!), and, there at Villa Amalia, God truly poured His love upon us. I left Greece feeling rooted in God's faithfulness, knowing his desire for me to live a free and abundant life. Caroline and Melissa organized a week in paradise, and I am so grateful I was able to be a part of it.
I can’t say enough about this experience and what a blessing it was to me! As a beginner, the yoga was both accessible and inspirational to me, helping me stretch beyond my everyday practice in ways that both strengthened my body and touched my heart and soul. Likewise, every moment of this retreat was so well orchestrated and offered - from the scriptures and workshops to the exquisite surroundings, healthy food and free time to explore and process it all. I am forever grateful to Caroline, Melissa and their cooperation in the Spirit to produce this week of Heaven on Earth. – Christy
After struggling through some emotional and physical trauma, I fell away from God. It's easy to distance yourself from Him when you're feeling let down by Him. But through His good grace, I ended up on this retreat where I was able to reconnect in a way that I never thought possible. I've long heard the phrase "meeting Jesus on the mat" but never felt like it truly applied to my yoga practice until I came on this retreat. Thanks to the capable leadership of Caroline and Melissa, I was able to find my way back to loving and feeling connected to God. – Jessi
I truly felt God's presence at the retreat. I found a deeper, more profound relationship with God than I've ever experienced. I came back from the trip feeling new, restored, and lighter. It was like God breathed new life into me while I was away at the retreat. I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity I had going to the Amalia retreat and I'm so thankful God used two beautiful, smart, genuine women to facilitate it. It was absolutely perfect. – Sarah
